Shipping Methods

All products purchased on theskibum.com will be shipped either U.S. Postal Service, UPS or FedEx SmartPost for Economy Shipping and via either, USPS, UPS or FedEx for all other services unless otherwise deemed appropriate. At checkout, you will be given your shipping options: In Store PIckup, Economy, Ground, 2nd Day, or Next Day service. 

Holiday Shipping Deadlines 2023

  • Economy- Not Guaranteed before XMAS
  • Ground-Friday Dec 16th, but Not Guaranteed before XMAS
  • 2nd Day ($29.99-$79.99)-Tuesday Dec 19th by 12pm EST
  • Next Day ($49.99-$99.99)-Wednesday the 20th by 12pm EST

*2nd Day & Next Day Shipping Fees are guaranteed, not actual delivery

Shipping Information

Economy orders will ship within 5 business days and all other orders will generally ship within 1 to 3 business days. All packages must be sent to a valid street address. Customers are responsible for entering correct ship to addresses. Ship to addresses requiring correction may incur additional shipping charges. Skis, snowboards and some larger items will incur express shipping surcharges due to being categorized as oversized from all shipping carriers. This shipping surcharge will be assigned at time of checkout.

Flat Rate Shipping

The Ski Bum ships only within the 50 United States:

Economy Shipping - $4.99, Free for orders over $75 (*Free economy shipping only to the 48 contiguous states)

Ground Shipping - $9.99 (3-5 Business Days, excludes weekends and holidays)

2nd Day Air Shipping - $24.99 (2 Business Days, excludes weekends and holidays)

Next Day Air Shipping- $49.99 (1 Business Day, excludes weekends and holidays)

Additional Shipping Information

*Due to package size restrictions some large or bulky items (such as travel bags, travel cases), will have an oversize package handling charge applied. The additional charge for oversized items will be combined with the regular shipping fee in the shipping charge box at checkout. 

Failed Delivery Attempts

Most of our carriers make three attempts to deliver a package. Packages that contain more than $100 of merchandise may require a signature; otherwise, it is generally up to the driver's discretion to determine whether a signature is required. If the driver feels it is best to obtain a signature and no one is present to accept the delivery after three attempts, the package will be returned to us.

Recommended Shipping Address

The Ski Bum recommends shipping to a location where someone will be available to receive the delivery, such as a business address. The Ski Bum cannot be responsible for packages delivered to unattended addresses.

Transit Times

The amount of time an order is in-transit from the time it leaves The Ski Bum will depend on where it is being shipped and the type of service utilized.

Economy or Ground Services

Orders requesting Economy or Ground are normally shipped Monday - Friday and will typically leave our warehouse 24 to 72 hours from the time your order is placed. Orders received on Friday after 12pm EST - Sunday will usually ship the following Monday. Ground deliveries should arrive 1-7 days after leaving The Ski Bum.

Next Day and 2nd Day Services

Orders requested via Next Day should arrive the next business day (excluding weekends) after leaving The Ski Bum. Orders sent via 2nd Day should arrive within 2 business days (excluding weekends) from the date of shipment. FedEx and UPS guarantee on-time delivery for these services subject to their terms and conditions.

Orders must be placed by 10:00am (EST) Monday-Friday to be eligible for that day's Next Day or 2nd Day shipments. Orders placed over the weekend will not be shipped until Monday. Please take this into consideration when using these services.

The Ski Bum makes its best efforts to meet the timing requested for delivery. However, if the requested timing is not met, the customer's remedies are limited to the guarantee provided by UPS and/or FedEx, a refund of freight charges, and/or the opportunity to return the purchased items subject to the Company's Return Policy.

Tracking Your Order

At the time your order is shipped, you will receive a Ship Notification via email. A link is provided in this notification that you can use to track the delivery of your order. We suggest that you save this email until your order is fully received.

You can also track your order on the U.S. Postal Service, www.usps.com/tracking, UPS, www.ups.com or the FedEx website, www.fedex.com.

Item Availability

Most items shown on theskibum.com will be in stock and available for immediate shipment. On the occasion that an item is not available, you will be alerted on the product purchase page prior to adding that item to your cart. If you attempt to add an out-of-stock item to your cart, a message will appear at the top of the page indicating that the item you selected is not currently available for purchase. If you happen to select an out-of-stock item, please check back. The Ski Bum receives shipments from its vendors regularly and any out-of-stock item is typically filled within 7 to 10 days.

Payment

The Ski Bum, Inc. reserves the right to change customer payment options at any time. By initiating a transaction on theskibum.com, you are agreeing to the Terms & Conditions as documented on the website and the policies noted below.

Credit Card

TheSkiBum.com currently accepts the following types of credit card for payment of online transactions:

  • Visa
  • Master Card
  • American Express
  • Discover

The Ski Bum Inc. may use certain software or services to evaluate the validity and acceptability of any credit card. Although The Ski Bum welcomes you as a customer, The Ski Bum Inc. reserves the right to decline any transaction for any reason it deems necessary. If your credit card is declined, please review your account status with the card issuer and please note that the Bill-To address must match the address related to the credit card account. When you place your order online, your credit card is authorized for the amount of the order.  Your card is not actually charged until your order ships. Credit card orders can only be shipped to a certified shipping address on the credit card.  If you would like your order shipped to a location other than your billing address, please call your credit card company, tell them you want to add a certified shipping address to your credit card before placing your oder. Then call us at 1-302-454-9829 to place your order or send us an email at [email protected] letting us know you have done so so we can verify all relevant information.

Gift Card

The Ski Bum Gift Cards purchased online at www.theskibum.com can only be redeemed as payment for purchases in a Ski Bum retail store location. They can not be used for payment online.

Sales Tax

Current tax regulations require The Ski Bum, Inc. to collect sales or use tax for online sales shipped to Pennsylvania where The Ski Bum maintains business operations. Sales tax collections may vary over time as The Ski Bum expands its business to additional states and as sales tax regulations change.
